@entry door
In these instructions, the door at the bottom of the Exits window
is called the entry door. Each room has been given a unique
name which may not appear in the game itself.
Only the objects necessary to win the game are discussed in these
instructions. The game begins outside.

Outside:
At the entrance, you must open the skull and remove the key.
The door leads to the anteroom.
@anteroom
Anteroom:
You must take a torch and light it.
Use the skull key to unlock the double doors and open them.
They lead to the stone passage.
The door at the right side leads to the closet.
It can only be opened with the book key.
The entry door leads outside.

The skull key is found behind the skull outside the castle.
It opens the double doors in the anteroom.
@book key
The book key is found in the book in the stone passage.
It opens the closet.
@stone passage
Stone Passage:
Do not remove anything from the shelf.
Open the book on the shelf without moving it.
It contains the key to the closet. Take the ringed torch.
Open the light-coloured stone in the rear wall.
It leads to the balcony chamber. The passage also leads to the dwarve's
hall.

The ringed torch is found in the stone passage.
It is used to burn up the wraith in the cold alcove.
@closet
Take the sling. The sword has no use.
The entry door leads to the anteroom.

@round stone
The sling from the closet and a round stone from the waterfall are used to
kill the cyclops in the courtyard.
Open the sling, put the stone in it, close it, then operate the sling on
the cyclops.
@dwarve's hall
Dwarve's Hall:
The left door leads to the pedestal room. The far door leads to the tomb.
The right door leads to the lake.
@pedestal room
Pedestal Room:
Place the white gem in the hole and take the crystal orb.
The far door leads to the dragon lair.
The trap door does not lead anywhere.
The entry door leads to the dwarve's hall.
@dragon lair
Dragon Lair:
You must take the shield first. Then take the hammer and the spear.
The far door is unpassable. The entry door leads to the pedestal room.
@shield
The shield in the dragon lair protects you from the dragon's fire for
long enough to get the spear and the hammer.
@hammer
The hammer in the dragon lair is used to break the centre mirror in the
mirror room.
@spear
The spear from the dragon lair wil defeat the troll at the troll bridge once.
@lake
Lake:
The far door leads to the waterfall. The entry door leads to the
dwarve's hall.
The skeleton key may be obtained by dropping the crystal orb into the lake.
The crystal orb may be recovered from the lake by melting it with a torch.

The skeleton key is found at the lake.
It is used to open the door behind the centre mirror in the mirror room.
@crystal orb
The crystal orb is obtained from the pedestal room by placing the
white gem in the hole.
@waterfall
Waterfall:
Take a round stone from the floor. It is used with the sling.
The stone alcove is hidden behind the waterfall.
There is no way to get past the landslide.
The entry door leads to the lake.

Stone Alcove:
Operate the rock on the right wall.
The bag behind the rock contains the white gem, the red gem and
the blue gem. The entry door leads to the lake.

The white gem, blue gem and red gem are found in a bag hidden behind a rock
in the stone alcove. The white gem is used in the pedestal room.
The blue gem is used in the druid's cave.
The red gem is used in the library.
@tomb
Tomb:
Open the first coffin on the right and burn up the mummy.
Take the scepter. Do not open the middle coffin on the left.
Open the last coffin on the left to reveal the entryway to the
mirror room. The entry door leads to the dwarve's hall.
@scepter
The scepter is found in the tomb behind the mummy.
It is used with the sapphire ring to raise the throne in the throne room.
@mirror room
Mirror Room:
Take the broom. Break the centre mirror with the hammer.
Unlock the door with the skeleton key. This door leads to the inferno.
You can only enter if you are wearing the cloak.
The hole in the floor leads to the cage room,
but can only be used if the rope has been activated in the cage room.
@broom
The broom is found in the mirror room.
Do not try to ride it. The only use for the broom is that it may be
required to answer the sphinx's riddle.
@balcony chamber
Balcony Chamber:
Take the silver arrow. Operate the left torch to reveal a stairway to the
bridge room. There is no way to get past the balcony.

The silver arrow is found in the balcony chamber.
It is used to kill the werewolf. You do not need a bow to use the arrow.
@bridge room
Bridge Room:
The left bridge leads to the cold alcove.
The right bridge leads to the snake pit.
The right bridge can only be crossed if your inventory is empty,
except for the serpent wand and one torch.
The entry door leads to the balcony chamber.
@cold alcove
Cold Alcove:
The ringed torch can burn the wraith. Take the cloak.
The far door leads to the cage room.
There is no way to enter the hole in the ceiling.
The entry door leads to the bridge room.
@cloak
The cloak is found in the cold alcove. It protects you in the
inferno until you can use the crystal sphere to extinguish the flames.
@cage room
Cage Room:
The rope can be activated by saying "epor". It leads to the mirror room.
The scroll provides hints about the solution to the game.
There is a door hidden in the far end of the hallway.
It leads to the druid's cave. There is no way to pass the barred portals.
The entry door leads to the cold alcove.
@druid's cave
Druid's Cave:
Place the blue gem in the hole. Take the Ulterior Humana scroll.
The entry door leads back to the cage room.
@Ulterior Humana scroll
The Ulterior Humana scroll is found in the druid's cave.
It makes you invisible to allow you to get past the troll and cyclops
the second time.
It can be used in a number of other places,
but if you use it anywhere else, you will not be able to cross the
troll bridge twice.
@inferno
Inferno:
If you open the far door, a firedrake will appear.
Throwing the crystal orb into the flames of the inferno
(not at the firedrake) will extinguish both the inferno and the firedrake.
The far door leads to the troll bridge.
The entry door leads to the mirror room.
@troll bridge
Troll Bridge:
Attempting the cross the bridge will make the troll appear.
The first time you cross, you can use the spear to knock him down.
The second time you can use the Ulterior Humana scroll to make
yourself invisible. The far door leads to the courtyard.
The entry door leads to the inferno.

Courtyard:
Use the sling and round stone to stun the cyclops.
Operate the windlass, and open the bucket to retrieve the gauntlet.
The far doors lead to the long hallway.
The entry door leads to the troll bridge.
@gauntlet
The gauntlet is found in the bucket in the well in the courtyard.
It protects your hand from the acid in the fountain in the garden so that
you can get the flute.

Long Hallway:
The first door on the left leads to the library.
The second door on the left leads to the laboratory.
The door on the right leads to the armoury.
The far door leads to the banquet hall.
The entry door leads to the courtyard.

Library:
Open the desk and take the glasses, the desk key,
the Instantum Illuminaris scroll, and the Terra Terrakk scroll.
Take the Prophecy tome.
Place the red gem in the hole to reveal the entrance to the study.
The entry door leads back to the long hallway.

The glasses are found in the desk in the library.
They must be worn to read the Prophecy tome.
@Instantum Illuminaris scroll
The Instantum Illuminaris scroll is found in the desk in the library.
It produces a brilliant flash of light that blinds the gargoyle statues.
@Terra Terrakk scroll
The Terra Terrakk scroll is found in the desk in the library.
It opens the globe in the study.
@Prophecy tome
The Prophecy tome is found on the desk in the library.
It can only be used when wearing the glasses from the desk.
It is used to raise the bridge in the lava cavern.

The Study:
Operate the Terra Terrakk scroll on the globe. Take the globe key.
The entry door leads to the library.
@laboratory
Laboratory:
Operate the stone with the ring on it. Take the holy water.
The stairs lead down to the garden.
The entry door leads to the long hallway.
@holy water
The holy water is found in the laboratory.
It is used to kill the hellhound in the brazier room.
@garden
Garden:
Wear the gauntlet. Take the flute from the fountain. Play the flute.
Retrieve the sapphire ring from the tree.
The entry door leads back to the laboratory.
@sapphire ring
The sapphire ring is found in the tree in the garden.
It is used with the scepter to raise the throne in the throne room.
@armoury
Armoury:
There is nothing that you need in the armoury. You do not need the bow to
use the silver arrow.
The entry door leads back to the long hallway.
@banquet hall
Banquet Hall:
Burn the rug. The rug key unlocks the lower door leading to the
small hallway. The globe key unlocks the upper left door leading to the
brazier chamber. The desk key unlocks the upper right door leading to the
sphinx room. The entry door leads to the long hallway.
@rug key
The rug key is found by burning the banquet hall rug.
It opens the lower door in the banquet hall.
@globe key
The globe key is found by using the Terra Terrakk scroll on the
globe in the study. It opens the upper left door in the banquet hall.
@desk key
The desk key is found in the desk in the library.
It opens the upper right door in the banquet hall.
@sphinx room
Sphinx Room:
Attempting to climb the stairs makes the sphinx ask a riddle.
The solution is usually one of the objects in the library or study
(or the broom). Go get the object and place it on the sphinx.
The stairs lead to the observatory.
The entry door leads to the banquet hall.
@observatory
Observatory:
Take the shooting star from the middle of the star map.
Burn the star map and take the iron rod that is revealed.
The ladder leads to the closed turret.
The entry door leads to the sphinx room.

The shooting star is found in the middle of the star chart in the
observatory. It is used to kill the wyvern over the open turret.

Closed Turret:
The damsel in chains is actually a werewolf.
Use the silver arrow to stab it. Take the golden spike.
The entry door leads to the observatory.

The golden spike is found in the closed turret.
It must be placed on the staff of ages to activate it.
@brazier chamber
Brazier Chamber:
Moving the horn causes the hellhound to appear.
Open the holy water and use it to banish the hound.
Take the platinum horn. The ladder leads to the open turret.
The entry door leads to the banquet hall.

The platinum horn is found in the brazier chamber.
It is used to open the door in the skull vault.

Open Turret:
Use the shooting star to explode the wyvern. Take the bladed sun.
The entry door leads back to the brazier chamber.
@small hallway
Small Hallway:
The door on the left leads to the windy ledge.
The door on the right leads to the throne room.
The entry door leads back to the banquet hall.
@throne room
Throne Room:
Open the crest and put the sapphire ring in the hole that is revealed.
Put the scepter in Doogan's left hand.
The passageway that is revealed leads to the granite hallway.
The entry door leads to the small hallway.

Granite Hallway:
The door on the left side of the granite hallway cannot be entered.
The door at the far side leads to the gargoyle cave.
The entry door leads to the small hallway.

Gargoyle Cave:
The Instantum Illuminaris scroll blinds the gargoyles.
This lets you pass through the dark archway once.
Do not use it until you have the staff of ages, the silver orb,
the golden spike, the platinum horn and the bladed sun.
The dark archway leads to the well room. The tunnel to the left leads to
the lava cavern. The entry door leads to the granite hallway.

Lava Cavern:
Wear the glasses and operate the Prohecy tome on the statue of the demon.
This completes the bridge. The far door leads to the yehti cave.
The entry door leads to the gargoyle cave.

Yehti cave:
Operate the right lever, operate the centre lever, then operate the
right lever again. Take the silver orb. The hole cannot be entered.
The entry door leads back to the lava cavern.

The silver orb is found in the yehti cave.
It is used with the golden spike to activate the staff of ages.
@windy ledge
Windy Ledge:
Place the iron rod into the socket. Take the serpent wand that appears.
The stairs lead down to the lookout.
The entry door lead back to the small hallway.

Lookout:
Do not touch the pot of gold.
Open the bag and take the well coin and a skull coin.
The entry door leads back to the windy ledge.
@iron rod
The iron rod is found behind the star map in the observatory.
It is used as a lightning rod on the windy ledge to obtain the serpent wand.
@well room
Well Room:
Operate the lever. Throw the well coin into the well.
Going into the well leads to the river.
The door on the left is unpassable.
The entry door leads to the gargoyle cave.

The well coin is found in the pouch on the lookout.
When thrown into the well in the well room (not in the courtyard),
it allows you to descend into it.
@skull coin
The skull coin is found in the bag on the outlook.
It is used to operate the ferryman at the river.
@river
River:
Ring the gong. Operate the ferryman with a skull coin. Go to the raft.
This takes you to the skull vault.
The entry door goes back to the well room. You never use it.

Skull Vault:
Place the bladed sun in the first hole, beneath the engraving of the sword.
Blow the platinum horn.
The doorway that is revealed leads to the behemoth cavern.
The entry door leads back to the river.
@behemoth cavern
Behemoth Cavern:
Operate the golden spike and the silver orb on the staff of ages.
Operate the staff of ages on the behemoth.
Rejoice at the salvation of the world.
The entry door leads to the skull vault (but you don't care).
@serpent wand
The serpent wand is found on the windy ledge after the iron rod has been
placed in the socket.
It is used to change the statue into the staff of ages in the snake pit.
@snake pit
Snake Pit:
Operate the serpent wand on the snake statue. Take the staff of ages.
The entry door leads back to the bridge room.
@staff of ages
The staff of ages is found in the snake pit after using the serpent wand.
When activated by the silver orb and golden spike,
it is used to anger the behemoth and win the game.
